I was practically born into cosmetics. Starting in 1988 with Estée Lauder companies, I first saw retail cosmetics as a way to put myself through college but soon found myself on a fast track of promotions with skincare and prestige fragrance companies at Nordstrom. Nordstrom proved more valuable to my “beauty education” as it served as the foundation for training, team building, presentations, negotiations, and relationship management skills.
As Nordstrom moved its leaders to Seattle, I progressed on to a new endeavor, the vendor side. Here, I was able to gain and expand my skillset including National customer management, budgets, forecasting, co-op and inventory management. I built and managed field teams from the ground up, presented products to merchants and DMM’s reaching across all channels ultimately resulting in YOY volume brand growth.
I had the privilege to develop and work with brands such as Dr. Brandt, Borba, multiple fragrance houses, Leaf & Rusher, Apivita, Joey of New York & T3 Micro just to name a few. This is truly where those long term well-earned relationships developed.I quickly realized the beauty industry is fun and I was born to sell! Throughout my career, I was constantly being asked if I could make introductions or advise a brand on how to launch. This is how IN Beauty Consulting was born on September, 2014. I am thrilled to share my 30 years’ experience navigating retail to support brands that have the same passion and desire to launch at some of the best accounts in the Nation.
I am passionate about the brands I sell and proud of my network. Much like Cinderella, the glass slipper fits! –Tracy Aschenbrenner
